Pueblo husband places ad on truck to get his wife a kidney

A man in Pueblo is eager enough to find his wife a kidney transplant that he put a sign on the back of their truck hoping to find a donor.

Jerry Hargrove and his wife, Carole, said they were inspired after seeing a couple in Denver do the same thing.

Carole Hargove has been waiting for a kidney for over a year. The couple hopes the sign makes people more aware of the need for donors. She’s hopeful she can find a donor with a O-negative blood type.

“Saving somebody’s life is quite a feat in itself,” Carole Hargrove said. “Not too many people know about donations.”

The couple initially had an ad with the hospital’s phone number, but the hospital received so many calls that it tied up the phone lines.
