Police: Body found in Stratton Open Space is missing woman

The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed Monday that a body found in the Stratton Open Space over the weekend is Ksenia Quiros.

Autopsy results, so far, are inconclusive. Toxicology results haven’t come back yet.

She went missing in the area Wednesday.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department said a volunteer found a woman’s body Saturday and notified police. Crews were then directed to an area west of Gold Camp Reservoir. Fire Captain Steve Oswald said the area was rugged and rocky. When the body was recovered, crews said the body appeared to match the description of Quiros.

“This has been a tough three days for everyone, it’s a very sad outcome,” Oswald said.

Earlier this month, her son, Alexandre Quiros was found dead. He was an Air Force Academy cadet and was found in his dorm room.
