The 31st Annual Space Symposium has begun

the largest gathering of space professionals anywhere in the world and it’s happening this week in colorado springs. krdo newschannel 13’s jay polk takes us inside the 31st annual space symposium. the broadmoor is known as a place of relaxation, but today it was a beehive of activity. people are here from around the world. 00:01:16 “we have some 25 countries represented.” the reason for the global invasion is out of this world. today, hosts and exhibitors alike were putting the final touches on the exhibits for this year’s space symposium. many of these booths are displaying products that are spin offs from the space program. 00:05:04 “we’re still enjoying things that were developed 40 and 50 years ago, as they get perfected.” one of those is something known as pulsed harmonix. 00:03:08 “it was certified by the space foundation as certified space technology.” the number of those spin off products isn’t the only thing going up. 00:01:25 “the methodology of this device is to start the healing process at the cellular level.” coming here is a way to connect with other companies that have used the same technology in their fields. 00:01:03 “as you can see in the hall around me, the space symposium has taken off like it’s been lauched by one of these rocket engines in the past few years. but putting on the space symposium is a big task for the space foundation, which is based in colorado springs.” not suprisingly, planning for any event with more than ten thousand people takes a while. 00:08:22 “we start organizing now and planning for this event for next year.” as the space industry continues to grow, they can expect to get even busier in the years ahead. in colorado springs, jay polk, krdo newschannel 13. the space symposium goes until thursday at the broadmoor.
