Fire danger rises in Colorado ahead of possible relief

A storm expected to bring some snow and rain to Colorado is first raising the fire danger across the state.

Strong winds developing ahead of an approaching cold front have led to red flag warnings Tuesday in both eastern and western Colorado. The National Weather Service says wind gusts up to 55 mph are possible in some locations.

Firefighters in southwestern Colorado will be working to keep a wildfire burning on Southern Ute tribal land from spreading beyond about 90 acres. The 213 fire is 40 percent contained.

A 250-acre wildfire near Kenosha Pass was full contained Monday evening.
