Groups celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis International in a different way

Kiwanis International turned 100 years old Saturday.Groups of volunteers went to Pueblo to celebrate the occasion with more than just a party and cake.

The volunteers packed 100,000 meals for people in need.

Pueblo Kiwanis Chapter President Carol Chiarito said it might be an astronomical task but at least many people won’t starve.

“Kiwanis is all about serving the children of the world one child at a time, so if there is a way we can make one child less hungry that’s what we are here for,” she said.

It was also the Pueblo Kiwanis Chapter’s 95th anniversary.
