Red Flag Warning issued for high fire danger today

The fire danger is high in all of southern Colorado today.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the entire region, including Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Caon City, Woodland Park, Walsenburg, Trinidad, La Junta, Lamar, Springfield and the surrounding areas.

A Red Flag Warning means that warm temperatures, low humidity and gusty winds are combining to create dangerously high fire danger.

Fires can start easily and grow rapidly in such conditions.

Any activities that could spark a wildfire should be avoided on Red Flag Warning days.
