Pueblo East football coach steps down

The man who led Pueblo East High School to its first-ever state football championship this past season is stepping down from his position.

David Ramirez resigned from both his position as head football coach and physical education teacher, effective immediately, according to a release from the school district.

Ramirez cited personal reasons for his departure.

East High School Principal Patrick Krumholz said an extensive search will begin immediately for Ramirez’s replacement.
