Man says he was hit by car, dragged during confrontation with trespassing suspect
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says a man who lives on Fort Carson is facing numerous charges following an incident in Florence Tuesday.
Roman Klosowski, 29, is being held on $5,000 bond.
The sheriff’s office says that its deputies and Florence Police were called to the 1700 block of County Road 95 to investigate a report of a trespassing and assault.
The caller said that there was a black car driving through fences, gates and private property. The caller also said that one person had been hit by the car and injured.
When deputies arrived, they spoke to a man who said that when he tried to stop the car from driving through private property, the driver hit him with the car, dragging him for a short time.
The sheriff’s office says the man, identified as Keith “Smitty” Smith, 79, was taken to the hospital for treatment of multiple orbital fractures.
Deputies and police officers found Klosowski still on the property, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators say he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he was arrested.
