Guilty plea in deadly December sledding accident

A Colorado Springs man has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in a deadly sledding accident that happened in December.

Michael Miner entered the plea on April 1, 2015. He will be sentenced on June 17.

Police said that the rider of a sled that was being pulled by a car driven by Miner was hurt when the sled crashed into a parked car.

David Teets, 33, of Colorado Springs later died from his injuries.

The incident happened in the parking lot of a store in the 1700 block of S. Circle Drive just after 5 p.m. on December 29, 2014.

KRDO.com reported in December that Cassandra Caton was also in the car and faced charges for being an accessory.
