Pueblo pothole patching spree to begin next week
City crews will begin a month-long effort to repair potholes throughout the city.
City spokeswoman Debra Hill said beginning on Monday, four full-time crews will be assigned to fix potholes north of the Arkansas River. Hill said potholes in that area will be a priority because the poor soil conditions in that area have worsened the quality of the pavement.
“There are a lot of bad holes. You have to always slow your car down. You can get flat tires and mess your alignment up,” said Pueblo driver William Wright.
Bob Wood said the pothole ridden streets contribute to his decision to drive an old car. “You just don’t want to get a nice car and then tear the suspension on it,” he said.
The city doesn’t yet have a list of specific roads that will be repaired, according to Hill.
Hill said drivers can report potholes at 719-553-2677. Drivers are urged to give detailed information about where the pothole is located, including the side of the street, nearby landmarks, intersection, etc.
City crews have filled about 700 potholes so far this year. Last year, nearly 4,600 potholes were patched.
