Man accused in disappearance of Pueblo teen in court, case continued

A man accused in the disappearance of a Pueblo teen was in court Monday morning.

Christopher Waide, 23, was expected to enter a plea. Instead, the case was continued until April 30.

Waide is suspected in the disappearance of 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter, who was last seen while visiting Westminster, where Waide lives, in June.

Investigators have said Waide and Porter attended the same high school in Fremont County and had reconnected on Facebook before she went missing.

Waide is charged with first-degree murder and several sexual assault charges in connection with her disappearance.
