Motorcyclist in hospital after traffic accident
Colorado Springs police report that a motorcyclist is in the hospital with serious injuries after a crash near N. Academy Blvd. and Austin Bluffs Pkwy before 3 Sunday morning.
Investigators say the motorcyclist was travelling north on Academy when he was struck by a small sedan turning off of Montebello Dr. and onto Academy.
The driver of the sedan was charged for the accident. Investigators say that alcohol did not contribute to the accident.
Several lanes of N. Academy were closed between Austin Bluffs and Mourning Sun Ave. during the investigation.
