Hundreds come to remember Pueblo girl

Pink and chocolate, these were two of Alexis Case’s favorite things.

They are among the memories family and friends have of a little girl who’s life ended to soon.

“The world was a better place with her in it,” said Brian Case, Alexis’ cousin.

“She’s small, sweet, always smiling, shy, little girl,” said Nicole Romero, Alexis’ cousin.

Alexis died after a truck struck her in front of her home. She was taken to the hospital where she died.

“She deserves the best. This is something nobody could be prepared for,” Romero said.

In order to keep Alexis’ memory alive, her cousin decided to have a benefit in her name Saturday night in Pueblo.

“It is the only way I can show my love for Alexis. By helping her be able to give her something beautiful,” Romero said.

Even though Alexis lost her life, there are family, friends and people who don’t even know her still around to keep her memory alive, and for her family that’s good enough.

“She always had a beautiful smile. To let everyone know what kind of person she was,” Case said.

“We all just love her and she’ll be tremendously missed,” Romero said.

Money raised from the event will go towards a funeral fund set up for Alexis.

The 6-year-old’s uncle is accused of driving drunk when he crashed into a home last Friday, killing Alexis.

Police said when they arrested Danny Case, he was slurring his words and had a strong smell of alcohol on him.
