Health department gives people a resource for food safety

The health department in Pueblo is giving people a resource to make sure their food is safe.

The Pueblo City-County Health Department created a blog called “The Dish.”

The department said it was created for people to check out food safety tips, view inspection reports, check for recall news from stores and even to get to know the inspectors.

“We’ve received feedback from citizens and from food workers that they want more information. They have questions about certain things and we realize a lot of them are on social media and they use it for information,” Inspector Alex Lerma said.

The department plans on adding a recognition section on the website for restaurants that go above and beyond the safety guidelines.
