Park County sets up Craigslist safe zone

The Park County Sheriff’s Office set up a safe zone for people using Craigslist, after police in Longmont said a pregnant woman using the site was stabbed and her baby removed.

Park County will allow people selling and buying items on Craigslist to meet at the Sheriff’s Office parking lot in Fairplay.

Staff will not watch transactions, deputies said. But cameras will monitor the parking lot.

This is in response to an incident in Longmont last week, the sheriff’s office said. A pregnant woman was lured to a home by another woman selling baby clothes on Craigslist, investigators said. The victim was stabbed in the stomach and her baby was removed.
