Coal Train Derails Northeast of Denver

A coal train has derailed northeast of Denver near Hudson, but no injuries have been reported.

Weld County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sean Standridge says the accident occurred Sunday morning when 10 to 15 coal cars jumped the tracks.

He says the BNSF train wreck has closed the tracks and it is unknown when they will reopen.

There were a total of 120 cars on the train.

The cause of the derailment has not been determined.
