Higher temperatures keep Flight For Life busy

As weather starts to get warmer, Flight For Life in Pueblo receives more calls for emergency service.

The emergency crew said since more people will be doing outdoor activities because of the warm weather, it usually keeps them occupied to provide help.

Flight For Life said it can receive as much as 50 calls a month in the warmer months, and as few as 30 during the colder ones.

“We also do a lot more aerial searches where we are looking for lost hikers, just flying over the areas and trying to locate and find lost hikers. We also do a lot more fire watches,” J.C. Taylor said. He is the assistant nurse manager for Flight For Life in Pueblo.

The emergency crew covers a 150-mile radius in southern Colorado.
