State patrol cracking down on distracted driving
The Colorado State Patrol will increase patrols this weekend to look out for distracted drivers and strictly enforce the state’s no texting laws.
This year, CSP will focus on tackling distracted driving. It announced the start of its Distracted Driving campaign Friday.
In Colorado, it’s illegal for any driver under 18 to use a cellphone on driving. Drivers 18 and older can’t legally text and drive.
The Colorado Department of Transportation put up signs saying, “Get your heads out of your apps.” They’re meant to remind drivers of the enforcement.
