UPDATE: Body found in Colorado Springs field

Police say a man’s body was found in a field near Fountain and Union Thursday (3/12/15).

Officers were called to the field in the 2100 block of E. Fountain Blvd. at 10:27 a.m.

The man has been identified as Edward Cariaga of Colorado Springs. Family members tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 that he was 51 years old and was also known as Edward Duran.

An autopsy was performed, but police say the cause and manner of Cariaga’s death are undetermined. They say Cariaga’s remains were in bad condition because of decomposition and wildlife activity.

Springs police say the death is not considered suspicious.
