KRDO is StormReady!

The National Weather Service wants to know if you are StormReady.

Here at KRDO we are.

In Southern Colorado, we get a wide variety of weather from raging floods to blinding snow.

Being ready for whatever nature throws at us is what the StormReady program is all about.

StormTracker 13 meteorologist Rachael Plath received the StormReady designation from Tom Magnuson, the warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Pueblo.

KRDO is the first television station in our area to become StormReady, and the designation carries some responsibilities.

“You’re keeping track here and making sure that your people are safe from the hazardous weather that is moving across the area,” said Magnuson.

To find out how your group or community can become StormReady, you can contact the National Weather Service office in Pueblo at 719- 948-9429.
