Charges filed against man accused of setting his home afire

The district attorney says a man accused of setting fire to his home was stalking his wife.

According to a statement from the district attorney’s office, William Lindauer learned at a court hearing Tuesday that he faces 13 charges, including arson, stalking and cruelty to three pets.

Early March 10, Arvada police found Lindauer’s home ablaze and the words “my wife is a cheater” spray painted on it.

Bond was quadrupled to $200,000 after prosecutors told the court that Lindauer had bought guns and ammunition and was stalking his wife, who had become fearful and moved out with their three children before the fire.

His lawyer could not be reached for comment because none was listed in court documents for Lindauer, who was in jail.
