A Pueblo group wants to improve the East Side’s reputation

People in Pueblo want to improve the East Side’s image.

A group held a meeting Thursday to share ideas on how to improve the area.

The East Side Action Support Team hosted the meeting. The group said the area has a reputation of shootings, drug dealing and other crimes and it hopes to change that.

“Let’s beautify it and make it a nice place for people to come in. Why does it have to be so dreary? Why do the buildings have to be boarded up and falling down? Let’s work together and make it a better place. It should be a great spot for people to live in,” Janet Wilson said. She lives on the East Side.

The group hopes to improve the area by cleaning up it up, putting up more art and improving safety with support groups.
