Pueblo joins other law enforcement agencies to battle auto theft
Pueblo police want to lower the auto theft rate by teaming up with more law enforcement.
The amount of auto thefts in Pueblo was up nearly 100 from 2013.
Pueblo decided to fight this by joining the Southern Colorado Reduced Auto Theft Task Force.
Pueblo police Deputy Chief Troy Davenport said this will help with sharing information, technology and even recovering a vehicle.
“We want to be more effective by creating an agreement between all of these agencies and creating a wider catch net to address this issue,” he said.
Colorado Springs, Fountain, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park, along with El Paso and Pueblo County are all part of the team.
