Man arrested on arson charge after explosion, fire in Arvada

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of arson after an explosion and fire at a house in the Denver suburb of Arvada.

The Denver Post reports firefighters were called to the house at 1:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.

The suspect’s name wasn’t immediately released.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

Deputy Fire Marshal Deanna Harrington says the front and the back of the house were on fire and debris was scattered in the street when crews arrived.

She says damage was significant and investigators haven’t been able to enter the house because the floor is unstable.

The phrase “my wife is a cheater” was spray painted on the front of the house.
