Two men arrested after “pistol whipping” at El Paso County bar
El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men accused of “pistol whipping” a man outside the Shots Tavern on Main Street.
Deputies were called to the bar around 11:30 p.m. on March 8th. They were advised shots had been fired.
After speaking with employees and bar patrons, deputies determined there had been a physical altercation between two men. One of the men pulled out a handgun and “pistol whipped” one of the patrons. Witnesses also told deputies several rounds were fired into the bar. An employee was able to give deputies a credit card from one of the employees who left prior to the deputies arrival.
A vehicle that matched the description given by witnesses was found at a park nearby. Deputies found blood on the front passenger seat and door and one of the men had injuries on his hand and wrist consistent with a fight.
Both men were detained and identified by an employee of the bar. Deputies say both men then confessed their involvement to “pistol whipping” a patron and shooting rounds into the bar.
Olufemi Gbenga Adegbesan was booked into the Criminal Justice Center on Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Felony Menacing. Willie Brian Jones-Walker was booked in to the Criminal Justice Center on charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Feloney Menacing and Illegal Use of a Firearm.
