Thousands come out for Spring Runoff

The cold didn’t keep people from racing Sunday in a Pueblo tradition.

The 37th annual Spring Runoff took place Sunday at Dutch Clark Stadium. It was hosted by the Pueblo Chieftain.

People participated in a 3-mile walk or a 5K, 10K or 10-mile race.

Faith Stephan of Larkspur won the women’s 10-mile race. She said the race gives her a chance to tour the Steel City.

“It’s nice. You’ve got the Riverwalk there and you get a bunch of different scenery. You get to be in the trees for a little bit. You get to be on the streets for a bit and out in the open. It changes it up and keeps it interesting. It keeps the scenery nice. It’s a good run,” she said.

Proceeds from the race will go to the Southern Colorado Runner’s Club.
