Knitters and crocheters in Pueblo make items to help people stay warm
A group in Pueblo is putting needle to wool in order to help people stay warm in the cold weather.
Knitters and crocheters gathered Saturday in downtown Pueblo to help make scarves and squares for blankets in the Knit-A-Thon hosted by Pueblo Rape Crisis Services.
The warm items will be donated to POSADA and the Pueblo Rescue Mission to help people who are homeless.
Helen Crow-Blatnick, who is new to knitting, said it was her first time making clothing for another person.
“I have been knitting for a month. I learned for this event. A coworker taught me how to knit so I can come to this event,” she said.
The event was also a fundraiser for Pueblo Rape Crisis Services. The group made more than $500 from the event.
