Rye picks up after winter storm, braces for more snow
Ferrel Keys was in no hurry to clear his Rye driveway: after all, 24 hours later he’ll likely be doing it all over again.
“This is why I worked all my life — to take it easy. This isn’t really taking it easy,” said Keys, 74, with a chuckle.
When Keys retired from the steel mill in Pueblo, he and his wife decided to retire against the backdrop of Greenhorn Mountain.
“I enjoy the peace and quiet,” he said. We’re always go, go, go. On the run.”
Keys spent much of Thursday morning shoveling the snow around his plow so he could clear his driveway. More snow is in the forecast Thursday evening.
