Hospital in Pueblo prepares for the snow

The snow is not on the ground yet, but Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo is preparing for it.

Public Relation Specialist Michelle Peulen said Parkview will have extra medical staff this weekend and the medical center has enough medical supplies to last four days.

There will also be more people on call, just in case.

Peulen said there is a silver lining for bad weather.

“A lot of times when we have to prepare for events, we don’t get that advance notice. So in the health care industry, we have to be prepared for whatever is coming at a moment’s notice. So at least with a storm, we have some advance notice, and we can prepare,” she said.

Peulen said the most common injury the medical center treats are broken bones or bruises when people slip and fall on the ice.
