Pothole relief coming to 8th Street Sonic

Drivers who are tired of the potholes on service roads around the Sonic restaurant on Eighth Street in southwest Colorado Springs will soon have a less bumpy ride.

In a release this week, Sonic resolved a question about ownership of the roads.

“(Sonic) is aware of the potholes on the property of the drive-in and has worked to find a service to fix the issue this week,” Jason Acock, a corporate spokesman, said.

Acock provided no further details about exactly when the potholes will be filled, or who will do the work.

Potholes have frustrated drivers in the area for more than a year, and new potholes that developed this winter only worsened the situation.
