Trio accused of stealing used car batteries from Springs businesses
The police department has arrested three men who it says stole used motor vehicle batteries from Colorado Springs businesses.
Bobby McQuilliams, Joshua Proksch and Bobby Vialpando were arrested in the early morning hours of February 16, 2015.
Police say the investigation that led to their arrests began in January when detectives and crime analysts with the police department’s metal theft task force began to notice a pattern of thefts in which used motor vehicle batteries were stolen from businesses.
Detectives learned about a possible suspect and associated vehicle. When they found out the vehicle was spotted outside of a business downtown, they moved in.
Investigators determined that there had been another burglary. They followed the suspect’s vehicle to the south end of town before pulling it over.
Police say multiple items that were taken during the burglary were found in the car, along with the three men.
