More jobs announced in the Pikes Peak region
A winning week on the job front for the Pikes Peak region after 2,100 jobs were announced by Sierra Nevada Corp. on Thursday. The news got even better Friday when Rocky Mountain Materials and Asphalt announced it is looking to fill over 200 open positions.
“We’re happy to say that we’re going to be creating quite a few jobs,” said J.T. Marrs, director of transportation and safety.
The company will be providing the base materials for the wind farm set to be built in eastern El Paso County.
“Our Class Five road base is the material we use to lay down on the ground so that we can get a solid surface to use for the transport of heavy equipment,” Marrs said.
Drivers appear to be the biggest need.
“Soon we will be running 24-hour shifts,” Marrs said.
If you are interested in applying, Marrs said you should stop by the facility at 1910 Rand Ave. in Colorado Springs.
