8th Street getting pothole repairs in Colorado Springs

Drivers who have complained about the condition of the pavement on Eighth Street are glad to see a procession of heavy equipment Tuesday filling potholes and cracks.

The Colorado Springs Streets Division began working on the street as the latest step in repairing potholes throughout the city.

Most of the repairs will be done on the hill from Motor City to Brookside Street.

Corey Farkas, the division manager, said some sections of Eighth Street are so bad, workers will repave them instead of filling the potholes there.

The work should be finished by the end of next week, he said, and drivers should be aware of temporary lane closures during the day.
