Partnership formed in Pueblo to help in the cycle of learning

Teachers teach the students and those students teach younger students. It’s the circle of learning at Pueblo City School District 60.

Fountain International Magnet School and East High School teamed up to form the International Baccalaureate Corridor.

The International Baccalaureate program prepares students for college by giving students an opportunity to take college-type classes before going to college.

The purpose of the partnership is for East High School students to tutor students at Fountain International and get them ready to go to Corwin International Magnet School, another IB school.

Layla Shahmohammadi is a student at East High School. She said teaching the students is rewarding.

“I find is very enlightening to myself because I am able to see them and take it all in. It’s cool because it is like a motivation for myself that I get to see them do that and by the time they get in my spot, they will do great things,” she said.

Fountain International students first project from this partnership will be a presentation regarding social studies on Friday.
