Air Force One Set To Retire

After nearly three decades of service, the current Air Force One aircraft is set to retire.

The White House has once again chosen the American manufacturer Boeing as the builder of the new plane.

Current presidential planes that are in use now are models of the Boeing 747-200B Jumbo Jet. The Pentagon announced that Boeing’s sleek new 747-8 will be the new platform for the presidential planes. This new and improved model is longer and is much more efficient than its older brother.

The cost for two new Boeing 747-8soutfitted for the president to ride will bejust above $1.5 billion.

The process of building two new mobile White Housesis quite anundertaking and is expected to take around five years
