Pueblo Police make arrest in attempted murder investigation

Pueblo Police say a call about three suspicious men with guns led to the capture of an attempted murder suspect.

Police were called to the 500 block of E. Evans Ave. at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday (1/27/15) to investigate a report of three men with guns going into the back of a home.

Officers contacted three men inside the home and searched it.

Police say guns and drugs were seized from the home.

One of the men, Merlin Ortiz, 21, was arrested in connection to a shooting that happened Saturday night in the 200 block of Vinewood Lane. Ortiz faces a second degree attempted murder charge in the shooting of Travis Bob, 36. Bob’s condition is unknown.

Two other men were arrested. Joseph Carillo, 24 and James Ortiz, 29, will face charges of possession of a weapon by a previous offender and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
