Major road project set to begin in Pueblo’s North Side

Work will soon begin on a major road project in Pueblo, but on Wednesday night the city wanted to first show off its plans.

An interchange will be built on Dillon Drive that will go over I-25.

The public works department held a meeting Wednesday to answer questions regarding the project.

Barbara Bernard lives in Pueblo West. She said when it is finished, it will be easier for her to drive from Pueblo West to I-25.

“The biggest improvement for me would be easier access to the North Side area of Pueblo without dealing with the traffic on Highway 50,” she said.

Construction is expected to start in late February.

The project costs more than $15 million. The funding is from federal, state and local governments.
