Dalai Lama to visit Boulder in October
The Dalai Lama plans to visit Colorado in the fall.
The University of Colorado and the Tibetan Association of Colorado announced Tuesday that the spiritual leader will visit Boulder on Oct. 20 and 21. The association says the “Compassion in Action” visit will focus on incorporating compassion and ethics into daily life.
The Dalai Lama’s schedule and exactly where he will appear haven’t been determined yet. However, University of Colorado police chief Melissa Zak told the Daily Camera last week that the Coors Events Center on campus is being considered as a venue. It seats 11,000 people.
The Dalai Lama last visited Boulder in 1996. In 2006 he attended the Peace Jam Conference in Denver with other Nobel Peace Prize winners and he also visited Aspen in 2008.
