Young teens busted again for pot burglary

Two 13-year-olds are in trouble once again for trying to burglarize a medical marijuana dispensary.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, officers responded to the 2300 block of E. Bijou to a burglary in progress.

Witnesses reported two males breaking into a medical marijuana dispensary.

Springs police say they saw two 13-year-old boys running away from the area. Officer Christian McEvoy located the teens. McEvoy says he recognized them as the same juveniles that he had arrested for a different medical marijuana burglary last month.

Investigators say the teens broke into the business with a hammer to break the front door glass. They didn’t get away with any money or product.

The teens are being charged with second-degree burglary and criminal mischief.
