Pueblo home invasion produces late developments Sunday

Pueblo police said the victim of a home invasion Sunday has herself been arrested.

Police said the woman, whose name has not been released, was wanted on several unspecified outstanding warrants. Officers took her into custody Sunday evening.

Officers said the woman and several children were inside their home when two men broke in, seized several unspecified items and fled. One was caught and the other killed in a shootout with officers.

Police said the woman knows at least one of the suspects but provided no further details.

A woman at the home, who identified herself as the victim’s sister, said her husband moved out recently and the suspects may have known that.

“She hasn’t lived there very long,” said Paula Szalai, a neighbor. “I’d say about six months. But she and her husband were nice people. They talked with people.”

Late Sunday night, police handcuffed a man who was at the home after the victim’s family returned. Police didn’t reveal the man’s identity or his reason for being detained.
