AFA cadet dies in ski accident

An Air Force Academy cadet died in a skiing accident over the weekend.

It happened on Saturday at Keystone Resort in Summit County, according to a release from the academy.

Cadet 4th Class John “Jack” Lindsey was pronounced dead at the scene, and the cause of death was determined to be an accident.

“The academy is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own, said Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson. “Our most sincere condolences go out to Jack’s family. This tragedy affects not only his family at home, but all of our cadets, staff, and faculty who were fortunate enough to know Jack and were touched by his positive attitude and passion for life.”

Academy personnel are coordinating funeral arrangements with the Lindsey family.

Support services have been made available to the Lindsey family, fellow cadets, staff, and faculty.
