Denver Nuggets’ Ty Lawson accused of driving drunk
Denver Police say Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of DUI.
According to the court summons, Lawson was arrested at 1:19 a.m. in the 3400 block of Park Ave. West.
The summons says that Lawson faces charges for DUI – 2nd alcohol related offense, careless driving and speeding 25-39 mph over the speed limit.
The officer who arrested Lawson said he was going 61 mph in a 35 mph zone. The officer said Lawson failed a field sobriety test, had slurred speech and admitted to drinking alcohol before driving.
According to the summons, Lawson told the officer that he was previously arrested for DUI in Missouri.
Lawson was ordered to appear in court at 10 a.m. today.
