Dog dies in Colorado Springs house fire

A woman’s service dog died in a house fire in Colorado Springs Wednesday night.

Firefighters said they responded around 6 p.m. to a home in the 800 block of East Yampa Street.

Firefighters pulled the woman and her dog out of the home, but the dog did not survive.

The woman was treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
