Walsenburg Armed Robbery Investigation

An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Walsenburg.

At approximately 12:05 a.m. Wednesday morning, two armed males entered the Acorn Travel Center (455 US Highway 85/87) and ordered customers to the ground.

The men attempted to gain entry into the cash register by firing a round into the register.

No one was injured.

The men left the store in an older model dark colored truck driven by a third party.

The vehicle left the scene going north on Highway 85/87.

The investigation is ongoing. More information is expected soon.
