Man sentenced to 30 years in attempted Aurora kidnapping

A man who pleaded guilty in the attempted kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom in suburban Denver has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Twenty-eight-year-old John Snorsky was sentenced Monday in Brighton under a plea deal with prosecutors.

Despite his guilty plea, Snorsky told the judge he didn’t want to kidnap the girl. He said he was high and panicked, saying “If I wanted that girl, I would have took her.”

Investigators said Snorsky got into the girl’s bedroom on Oct. 28, 2013 through an unlocked window and pulled her out through the window as she tried to get down the stairs of her bunk bed. They say the girl’s father, who heard her calling, chased after Snorsky, who then dropped the girl.
