Two people arrested in Pueblo in connection to a home invasion

Two people were arrested in connection to a home invasion and shooting that happened on Pueblo’s East Side.

Wayne Moore, 39, and Brittny Ortega, 22, were arrested, each with a charge of first-degree burglary.

A police report said Moore is the man who transported the home invader who was shot by the homeowner to the hospital.

Officers said a man was brought into Parkview Medical Center’s Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to the right upper leg. Police responded to the hospital at about 2 a.m.

Once officers found out where the shooting happened, police responded to the 1700 Block of E. Third St.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a disturbance occurred in the home and shots were fired.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit determined this was a home invasion where the homeowner used a firearm to defend himself.

The man who sustained injuries in this incident is in stable condition.

His name hasn’t been revealed yet.

This remains an ongoing active investigation.
