Shots fired at apartment complex, 1 arrested

Colorado Springs police have arrested a man after a report of shots fired in the 300 block of Gahard Drive.

The call was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. Investigators report that Quillian Riley Smith, 23, allegedly got into a fight with another man outside an apartment building. Officers say Smith left the area and returned with a gun, firing several shots.

People were in the apartments at the time, but no one was hurt. Smith allegedly left the scene in his car.

The investigation later found that Smith was associated with an address in the 1800 block of St. Elmo Court. Officers from the Gold Hill subdivision responded to the area to contact Smith. A short car chase followed, which ended behind the police operations center on Las Animas Street, according to police.

Smith was arrested.
