Pueblo receives grant money to fix a damaged bridge

A bridge that concerns the Pueblo Public Works Department will soon get repaired.

The East 8th Street Bridge over Fountain Creek is one of the bridges that connects Pueblo’s East Side to Downtown.

C-DOT is giving $280,000 to fix the bridge.

Even though the bridge isn’t a major safety concern, Department Director Earl Wilkinson said the money is going to be used for needed repairs.

“Pieces are breaking off, but not on all the columns, only on part of the columns on the bridge,” he said.

Construction is set to begin in November.
