Rocky Ford man dies in rollover accident on Highway 96 between Boone and Ordway

A Rocky Ford man died in a rollover accident on Highway 96 between Boone and Ordway Thursday.

Colorado State Patrol said Johnny Wilson, 55, of Rocky Ford died in the crash. He was the only one involved.

Troopers said Wilson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Wilson was going east on Highway 96 when the truck drifted off of the road and rolled.

The truck was hauling dirt and sand. No one else was hurt

State Patrol said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the accident but the crash is still under investigation.
