Juvenile boy arrested, accused of stealing car

A juvenile boy was arrested in Colorado Springs early Monday morning, accused of stealing a car.

Police say an officer attempted to stop a car around 2:15 a.m., near E Fountain Blvd and S Royer St. The driver drove off and tried to escape police, but lost control on the icy road. He crashed into a curb, disabling the car.

Police detained four people in the car. The juvenile driver was arrested and faces charges of Motor Vehicle Theft and Vehicular Eluding. Three other juveniles were released to their parents.

Police say the car had been reported stolen one day before the incident.
